Yesterday I was splitting some wood with a few friends to help out someone else. It hit me that here I was a 48 year old Home Inspector taking my time on a Sunday afternoon to split more than three cords of wood with friends to help out another person. Could I make this an article to get another person motivated to do something?
Hey I know the economy is bad, housing market is down, unemployment is high how could anyone possibly keep motivated to do something as strenuous as splitting wood for someone else. Never mind how full the glass of water is, you need to be self motivated. The key word in self-motivated is "self".
Upcoming Movie
I do the following everyday to get my but out of bed, feet on the floor and my day started.
•Thank God for this day and all his blessings, good & bad. You're luckier than most already, you have a roof over your head, you're not hungry, and there is more than likely someone who cares about you sleeping just a few inches away.
•Say something positive to everyone in your life at least once every day, if you cannot think of something, make something up. Remember you have the positive attitude.
•Find a charity that you can get involved in. Everyone needs to help another human out for no reason at all sometimes.
•Turn off that Boob-Tube in your house, read a book, take a trip to the museum, or just take a walk at a local park.
•Pray for someone that you really do not like. Praying for an enemy just might make you think twice about carrying around that resentment.
•Find something in your day or week to look forward too. It could be an upcoming movie, dinner with friends or just a nice meal by yourself.
•Get outside; there's a whole world out there waiting for you to see. Take a look at the sunset tonight, the stars that follow or the sunrise that starts your day. If you had problems praying before I am sure you won't after one of these that you take your time to actually see.
•Exercise for just a few minutes, a quick walk around the block or a short jog to the park to relax will do wonders and make you feel years younger.
•Learn something new or creative, sign up on Twitter and make a few post.
•Some of us have problems talking to family members, try posting some old photos of you or them on Facebook and wait for their replies. Someone has to make the first move, why not let it be you.
•Ever tried meditating? Google "meditation techniques" and explore the wonderful mysteries that are in your own mind.
Just remember; You will only get back what you give out. -Aho Mitakuye Oyasin
