Nonfiction best-seller 'Freakonomics' turned into film

Film based on the nonfiction best seller closing 'Freakonomics' at Tribeca

NEW YORK - "Freakonomics", a documentary based on the best nonfiction book sales, will close the Tribeca Film Festival.

The film is based on the 2005 book by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. It is led by five directors, including Alex Gibney and Morgan Spurlock.

Spurlock directed the Oscar-nominated documentary "Super Size Me."

Gibney film "Taxi to the Dark Side," was the Academy Award for best documentary in 2008. He has three films in the Tribeca festival. Also screen his "My Trip to Al-Qaeda" and an unfinished version of a documentary on former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

The ninth edition of the Tribeca Film Festival runs April 21 to May 2. The festival previously announced the rest of their lineup.
